Hanna Riedkina one of the winners of the “Nuclear Innovators” 2024 competition in the “Scientific Research” category

Hanna Riedkina, junior researcher at the Scientific and Technical Complex “Nuclear Fuel Cycle” (Kharkiv), one of the winners of the “Nuclear Innovators” 2024 competition in the “Scientific Research” category.

To participate in the competition, Hanna Riedkina presented the project “Ensuring the safety of spent nuclear fuel in Ukraine. Scientific support”. Research in the field of safe storage of spent nuclear fuel, which is carried out by Hanna and her colleagues on the basis of the National Scientific Center KIPT NAS of Ukraine, is one of the most important aspects of the reliable operation of the nuclear industry, in particular the nuclear fuel cycle.

The results are used to justify the safety of the Spent Nuclear Fuel Dry Storage Facility, to develop a program for the storage of spent nuclear fuel, as well as to improve existing methods in this area.
