V Reporting and Election Conference of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society: New Leadership Elected and Priorities Defined
On June 6, 2025, the 5th Reporting and Election Conference of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society (UkrNS) took place, bringing together delegates from leading institutions and enterprises of Ukraine’s nuclear sector. Participants reviewed the Society’s activities over the past two years, elected new leadership, and outlined key directions for future work.
The Conference unanimously approved the Board’s report and recognized UkrNS’s performance in 2023–2025 as satisfactory. During this period, the organization held over 100 events, established new regional branches, and strengthened cooperation with both national and international partners.
Volodymyr Kholosha was re-elected as President of UkrNS. Danylo Lavrenov was elected as First Vice President and Executive Secretary. Academician Anatolii Nosovskyi, Director of the Institute for Safety Problems of Nuclear Power Plants of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, was appointed Vice President for Scientific and Technical Development. His responsibilities will include coordinating research activities, supporting nuclear innovation, engaging with scientific institutions, and organizing professional conferences. Viacheslav Huba, Advisor to the President of NNEGC “Energoatom”, was elected Vice President for Education and Regional Policy. He will oversee cooperation with universities, support for young professionals, engagement with local communities, and development of educational initiatives in the field.
The new Board comprises 48 members, including heads of newly established regional branches. An updated Audit Commission was also approved.
Following the vote, the Scientific and Analytical Section will now be co-chaired by Oleksandr Mazurok, General Director of Energy Safety Group LLC, and Ivan Chepurko, Instructor at the NPP Training Center (Rivne NPP). Former Chair Kostiantyn Simeiko continues to serve as a member of the Board.
Eduard Omelchuk (Rivne NPP) and Olena Vtoraya (South Ukraine NPP) were elected as heads of the Youth and Women’s Sections, respectively.
The Conference also heard reports from regional branch representatives, including those from Mykolaiv region and the SE “VOSTGOK”.
In the final part of the Conference, three new regional branches were introduced, established at
Ukrainian investment product company “Nuclear Energy Systems of Ukraine”, the State Specialized Enterprise “EcoCentre”, and IPP-CENTER LLC. These branches were officially integrated into the Society, and their leaders included in the Board.
The Ukrainian Nuclear Society continues to serve as a unifying platform for professionals in the field, supporting the advancement of nuclear energy in Ukraine amid modern challenges.
