Ukrainian Nuclear Society Took Part in the Roundtable Discussion “Nuclear Energy of Ukraine: New Challenges and Development Prospects”

On March 31, 2025, Kyiv hosted a roundtable discussion dedicated to the strategic directions of Ukraine’s nuclear energy development. The event brought together leading industry experts to discuss the modernization of the energy system, the construction of new power units, and the implementation of advanced technologies.

The discussion was opened by Oleksandr Ostapovets, President of the “UYA” Association, Acting First Vice President – Technical Director of NNEGC “Energoatom.” Participants addressed key challenges for the nuclear industry, the role of Ukrainian enterprises in implementing promising projects, nuclear fuel production opportunities, and the contribution of nuclear energy to the decarbonization of the Ukrainian economy.

Volodymyr Kholosha, President of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society, delivered a report on the completion of power units No. 3 and No. 4 of the Khmelnytskyi NPP, emphasizing the project’s strategic importance for Ukraine’s energy independence.

The participants exchanged views and proposals, developing joint recommendations for the further development of Ukraine’s nuclear energy sector.
