The High Scientific Council of the European Nuclear Society Held Its Meeting in Brussels
A regular meeting of the High Scientific Council of the European Nuclear Society (ENS High Scientific Council) took place in the capital of Belgium.
The agenda focused on key issues related to the development of the nuclear sector:
- prospects for – nuclear medicine and the radiopharmaceutical market,
- extension of the operational lifetime of nuclear reactors,
- regulatory aspects of the deployment of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs).
During the meeting, four finalists of the ENS PhD Award competition were announced.
Special recognition was given to the work of Anton Kushtym, a researcher at the Nuclear Fuel Cycle Research and Technology Complex of the National Science Center “Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology.”
His project, “Fuel Assemblies with Rod-Type Fuel Elements Based on Uranium Dioxide for the Neutron Source Nuclear Research Facility”, nominated by the Ukrainian Nuclear Society, was praised for its high originality and scientific value.
🇺🇦 Ukraine was represented at the event by Phylyp Kuznetsov, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute “School of Physics and Technology” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and a member of the ENS High Scientific Council.
