A new separate subdivision of UkrNS has been established at the Branch “SS “Emergency Technical Center” JSC NNEGC “Energoatom”

On August 29, 2025, the founding meeting of the members of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society (UkrNS) was held at the Branch “Emergency Technical Center” (ETC) of JSC NNEGC “Energoatom”. Ten members of the Society – specialists of the enterprise – took part in the meeting.

The participants unanimously supported the decision to establish a new separate subdivision of UkrNS in Kyiv region based on the Branch “Emergency Technical Center.” Bohdan Kushnir, Advisor to the Director of the branch, was elected Head of the subdivision, and Ruslan Darda, Advisor to the Director of the branch, was elected Deputy Head. The decisions adopted will be approved at the upcoming meeting of the Board of UkrNS.

The Emergency Technical Center is one of the key divisions of JSC NNEGC “Energoatom”. Established in 2003, the branch operates to ensure Ukraine’s constant readiness for rapid and effective actions in the event of emergencies at nuclear energy and industrial facilities, in line with Ukraine’s international obligations and the requirements of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regarding the establishment of a national system for responding to nuclear accidents and emergencies. The branch’s areas of activity include certain types of decommissioning and conservation works of nuclear installations and facilities designed for the use of nuclear technologies, as well as radioactive waste management.

The Ukrainian Nuclear Society sincerely congratulates colleagues on the establishment of the new subdivision and wishes them fruitful and inspiring work as part of the broader nuclear community.
