Winners of the “Nuclear Energy and the World”-2024 Essay Contest Announced
On December 23, the results of the nationwide essay contest among youth were announced. The contest was organized by the Ukrainian Nuclear Society (UkrYaT) and NNEGC “Energoatom,” with support from leading universities in Ukraine.
Winners:
🥇 1st place: Mariia Pcholkina (Kharkiv) – “Methodology for Predicting Isotope Properties.”
🥈 2nd place: Solomiia Chukova (Varash) – “Applications and Properties of Uranium.”
🥉 3rd place: Liubov Krutenko (Kharkiv) – “Want to Become a Nuclear Physicist? Ask Me How!”
Encouragement prizes were also awarded for innovative ideas in nuclear energy.
In total, 19 participants from various regions of Ukraine competed in the finals. Their essays covered topics ranging from thermonuclear fusion to the prospects of small modular reactors.
