A meeting of the scientific and analytical section of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society was held

On June 18, 2024, a meeting of the scientific and analytical section of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society was held under the chairmanship of Konstantin Semeiko, scientific secretary and head of the laboratory of the Institute for Safety Problems of Nuclear Power Plants of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The event was attended by specialists from leading enterprises and organizations in the nuclear industry, as well as invited participants – winners of the scientific project competition “Nuclear Innovators”.

The meeting participants discussed the latest activities and events implemented by the UkrNS in the field of scientific activities, as well as plans for the future. In particular, holding the annual International Conference “Prospects for the Introduction of Innovations in Nuclear Energy,” which is scheduled for autumn 2024. In addition, the participants discussed the conduct of a feasibility study of the impact of martial law in Ukraine on the state of innovation, research and development in the field of nuclear energy and training in nuclear energy-related specialties, which was joined by the Ukrainian Nuclear Society, the Institute for Safety Problems of Nuclear Power Plants and other scientific institutions and institutions of higher education in the industry.

Presentations were also made by invited participants – winners of the “Nuclear Innovators” competition – 2024 Dmytro Koval, Rivne NPP (nomination “Applied Development”, report: “Mathematical model for numerical calculations of electromechanical and electromagnetic transient processes in the generation and output circuit”) and Hanna Riedkina , junior researcher at the Scientific and Technical Center “Nuclear Fuel Cycle” of NSC KIPT (nomination “Scientific Research”, report “Ensuring the preservation of spent nuclear fuel in Ukraine. Scientific support”).
