Focus group with nuclear industry specialists “Interaction of science with business”
On August 28, the Ukrainian Nuclear Society, together with representatives of the Science at Risk project, held an online focus group with nuclear industry specialists “Interaction of science with business”.
The purpose of the online discussion was to identify problematic issues and find effective ways to develop nuclear science in Ukraine, as well as a corresponding request for scientific research from business, industrial enterprises and companies in the nuclear industry.
Specialists and scientists from leading enterprises and organizations of the industry were invited to participate in the focus group: SE NNEGC Energoatom, Energy Safety Group, Institute for Nuclear Safety Problems of the National Academy of Sciences [NAS] of Ukraine, Institute for Nuclear Research of the NAS of Ukraine, M.S. Polyakov Institute of Geotechnical Mechanics NAS of Ukraine, winners and participants of the competition of scientific projects in the field of nuclear science, nuclear energy and industry Nuclear innovators.
The purpose of the research “Interaction of science with business” is to identify the conditions and requirements for the formation of effective interaction between science and business in the post-war period; identification of problem points in matters of access and use of scientific developments, scientific innovations, as well as their introduction into industrial use; discussion of the necessary changes in the organizational and scientific-innovative system to achieve optimal interaction.
The results of the focus group will form the basis for the preparation of relevant recommendations for government authorities, as well as leading organizations and institutions in the nuclear industry.
Science at Risk is a digital platform and community of Ukrainian scientists suffering from russia’s military aggression. The mission of the project is to help Ukrainian scientists suffering from war, to promote the preservation and restoration of Ukrainian science, and to help people around the world prepare for the challenges associated with hostilities or natural disasters based on the experience that Ukraine is going through.
