A separate subdivision of the NGO “UkrNS” was created on the basis of the Odesa Polytechnic National University

On November 21, 2023, a constituent meeting of members of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society was held in the city of Odesa, during which it was decided to create a new separate division based on the Department of Nuclear Power Plants of the Odesa Polytechnic National University.

23 members of the UkrNS took part in the constituent meeting. Volodymyr Kravchenko, professor, head of the Department of Nuclear Power Plants at Odesa Polytechnic, was elected chairman of the newly separate subdivision. The deputy chairman is Kostyantin Karchev, a graduate student of the Department of Nuclear Power Plants.

Odesa Polytechnic National University is one of the leading scientific and educational complexes of higher education in Ukraine. At the Department of Nuclear Power Plants, students are trained in many scientific areas, including the operation of nuclear installations, increasing reliability, extending the life and decommissioning of nuclear power plants, handling radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel, analyzing and ensuring nuclear and radiation safety.
