Energoatom, the Ukrainian Nuclear Forum, Ukrainian Nuclear Society and the Sumy Machine-Building Cluster of Energy Equipment Join Forces to Modernize Nuclear Energy

Kyiv, September 11, 2025 – a roundtable discussion titled “Synergy of Industry: ‘Energoatom’ and the Sumy Cluster for the Future of Nuclear Energy” was held, organized by the Ukrainian Nuclear Forum Association and JSC “NNEGC ‘Energoatom’.” The event’s goal was to unite production potentials to enhance the safety, reliability, and efficiency of Ukrainian NPP power units.

The discussion was attended by representatives of state authorities, leaders in the nuclear energy sector, and representatives of companies from the Sumy Machine-Building Cluster. Participants focused on issues of Ukraine’s nuclear energy development, industry modernization, and the possibilities of involving domestic enterprises in the implementation of promising projects.

A number of presentations were given during the event, including those on the prospects of expanding NPP nuclear capacities and involving national equipment manufacturers in new projects. The National Nuclear Energy Development Platform, Nuclear Hub UA, was also presented. A key outcome was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the NGO “Ukrainian Nuclear Society” and the NGO “Sumy Machine-Building Cluster of Energy Equipment.” The document aims to consolidate efforts to implement strategic tasks in the field of nuclear energy development, attract industrial and engineering potential, and support educational, scientific, and innovative projects. This is a significant step towards strengthening Ukraine’s energy independence.
