A New Branch of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society Established at SE “USIE IZOTOP”

On October 29, 2024, the founding meeting of the members of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society (UkrNS) was held atSE “USIE IZOTOP”, during which the decision was made to establish a new regional branch of the Society named “Isotope.”

The establishment of the new branch was officially approved during the meeting of the UkrNS Board on December 6, 2024. Serhii Hrynchenko, First Deputy Director of SE “USIE IZOTOP” was elected as the head of the new branch, with Volodymyr Kukharev appointed as deputy head.

SE “USIE IZOTOP” is a state enterprise founded in 1962, specializing in the supply of radioisotope products and equipment utilizing radioactive materials. The enterprise’s main areas of activity include: Supplying and distributing radiopharmaceuticals; Providing sources of ionizing radiation for medical and industrial purposes; Offering services for the installation, dismantling, and recharging of radioisotope equipment; Managing radioactive materials throughout their entire lifecycle.

SE “USIE IZOTOP” is a key partner in international projects supported by the U.S. Government through the U.S. Department of Energy and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The enterprise actively promotes the implementation of the highest standards in nuclear and radiation safety.

Participation in International Projects

SE “USIE IZOTOP” is engaged in initiatives aimed at improving the management of ionizing radiation sources (IRS) in Ukraine. These projects include: Enhancing systems for accounting, storage, and physical protection of both spent and operational IRS; Introducing advanced technologies for the safe storage and disposal of IRS; Providing professional training for personnel working with radioactive materials; Creating conditions to mitigate potential risks associated with the use of ionizing radiation sources.
